Chinatown Sandwich - Philippe's

Philippe The Original is responsible for inventing the French Dip Sandwich. In a very happy accident in 1918, owner Philippe Mathieu dropped the french roll of the sandwich he was making into a hot roasting pan and the customer wanted it anyway. Philippe's makes their own hot French mustard and offers french dip sandwiches with beef, pork, ham, lamb, or turkey and different levels of "wet". If you are at The Original, make sure you order the original version of the sandwich.
